I hate what has happened to the tamagotchi brand. I love the 90s versions and used to enjoy v1-3, but everything after that - what the fuck? The brand has become extremely tacky (eg. v4 onwards, music star- WTF is that?) and has lost all essence of what the original versions were about. The whole aesthetic and visual appeal of the 90s tamagotchi was that it was simple, stylish and appealed to lots...

tamagotchi l.i.f.e. The emphasis on the word ‘LIFESTYLE’ suggests that the product will be aimed at a wider, more mature audience. For me, it sounds like the product will be more classy, hopefully breaking away from the juvenile themes of the more recent tamagotchis.

chikadash: Straight up reproduction of the P1/P2 (It better have the original packaging, too, because absolutely no one likes the Connection packaging.) I really don’t like the newer versions. I remember liking them up to V3, but after 2006 I lost interest. In late 2007 I saw the V4 and thought I’d just see what it was like. I didn’t really like the features, I thought that the essence of tamagotchi had kind of been lost. What they should have done was remade the Ocean, Angel and Morino instead of making more versions.

i got some relatively low priced tamas on ebay, a rare japanese p1 and a japanese ketai v3, but one of the screws on the p1 was slightly stripped, and of course, it got stripped even more when I tried to remove it. I tried a few things but that screw does not want to come out. Any tips/ advice?
